Our initiators

In the meeting that the group of priests and lay people who in 1949 initiated the Cursillos in Christianity held with Monsignor Hervas in Madrid on April 12 to commemorate the 20th Anniversary, unanimously felt the need to institutionalize in a council of initiators the exceptional and unique historical and doctrinal knowledge of the Cursillos that each one of them possesses. Since 1955 the group of initiators separated; Monsignor Hervas was transferred to Ciudad Real, Don Juan Capó went to the diocese of Cordoba, while another group remained in Mallorca. When they met again in dialogue, full of historical reminiscences, around the one who was their bishop, they proposed to Monsignor Hervas to institutionalize the group to avoid receiving from each one of them a purely personal vision, when what they thought and carried out was done as a team and under the direction of their Bishop, without secularism or clericalism, so alien to a Work of the Church.
