In our beloved Mexico, we recently held our 85th National Plenary Assembly (Plenary), where we were welcomed with immense warmth by our gracious hosts from the Diocese of Tepic, Nayarit, from February 10 to 14, 2026.
The Assembly consisted of two major events: the Priests’ Meeting and the Plenary Assembly itself. During the Plenary, while the usual elements of any Assembly—reports, updates, and programming—were present, the central focus revolved around the School of Leaders. This same spirit also permeated the Priests’ Meeting, where, alongside moments of grace and prayer, various topics were explored in the context of the School.
The Provincial Presidents—representatives of various dioceses—the Provincial Advisors, and the Provincial Secretaries were invited to these Assemblies, all with voting rights. Likewise, Presidents, Advisors, and diocesan guests participated, with a voice but without a vote. It is worth noting that, so that the provincial representation would truly reflect the sentiments of their dioceses, each province had previously had the opportunity to meet, discuss, and reach a consensus on how to vote on the various topics to be addressed.
Once again, these Assemblies became a genuine experience of communion. It was a great opportunity to meet so many fellow Cursillistas from a wide variety of dioceses throughout the Mexican Republic—more than 85 active dioceses. Amid hugs, reunions, and new friendships, we experienced that atmosphere so characteristic of the Movement, where the human and the Christian intertwine naturally.
Amidst the diversity, there was no shortage of opportunities to share life, experiences, and testimonies during breaks and meals. These were moments that strongly reminded us of our Ultreyas: simple gatherings, yet full of life, where Christ is present in every conversation, every smile, and every testimony.
In addition, there was already a sense of excitement about the approaching 2026 National Ultreya, to be held in Monterrey, Nuevo León, on November 15 and 16.
The Diocese of Tepic, together with the National Secretariat, prepared this Plenary with generous dedication, joy, and that spirit of service so characteristic of the Cursillista. All that remains is to thank God for them and ask Him to bless them and multiply all the good they sowed during these days.
We bid farewell with hearts full and renewed, knowing that the Lord continues to count on us to carry His message into our environments.
Christ is counting on you!
Sincerely,
Javier Ayala Hinojosa
Diocesan President of the MCC
